iPhone prices fall by more than 20%

Price of iPhone 6s has declined almost 20% from Apple’s suggested retail price

iPhone prices in Dubai have seen a substantial decline over the past few weeks even as Apple yesterday announced its first ever iPhone sales slump.
Defending the sales decline, Apple CEO Tim Cook said: “Our team executed extremely well in the face of strong macroeconomic headwinds.”
The world’s most valuable company may be at a crossroads, with iPhone, its billion-dollar device, stumbling and showing signs of slowing down for the first time since the first iPhone was unleashed in 2007.
Sales of iPad, Apple’s second most potent
device, have already been sliding over the past couple of years, in line with fierce competition and a market slowdown in that segment.
It’s too soon to call Apple Watch, the firm’s most recent line of devices, a runaway success, and that leaves the firm staring at the rumoured Apple Car for future growth prospects.
Little wonder, then, that investors yesterday dumped Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares like hot potatoes in after-market deals. While APPL officially ended the day down just 0.69 per cent, after-market activity saw it slump almost 8 per cent, and dip below $100-mark for the first time since March 1 this year.

The iPhone 5SE was unveiled to the world only about a month ago (March 21, 2016), and the device officially hit the UAE’s shores earlier this month.

iPhone 6: This is one model that is available for a huge discount – close to 30 per cent – as it is a 2014 model and was launched a good 20 months ago, on September 9, 2014.
Apple suggests a retail price of Dh2,199 for the iPhone 6, but the device is available for as low as Dh1,600, a decline of over 27 per cent, on ‘Buy On Dubai’.

It is today available for Dh2,000, a decline of more than 23 per cent.
